Fertility Specialists of WA has further cemented its status as an industry leader, with three members of our exceptional team being listed among the world’s top researchers in female infertility for the years 2013-2023.
Professors Roger Hart and Bill Ledger and Doctor Melanie Walls have been singled out by Expertscape¹, an internationally recognised online database that ranks experts in Clinical and Medical Research globally.
Medical Director of Fertility Specialists of Western Australia and National Medical Director of City Fertility, Prof Hart took out the top spot Australia-wide and 8th internationally for female infertility research².
The recognition is a testament to his dedication to improving pregnancy outcomes and is based on the 23 eligible articles he has contributed to, focusing on female infertility during the years 2013-2023.
Prof Hart has published extensively in scientific literature in the field of infertility. He has more than 200 papers in the fields of infertility, IVF, PCOS, in vitro maturation of oocytes (IVM) and endometriosis.
His No.1 ranking for Australia puts him in the top 0.03 per cent of published authors worldwide on the topic of female infertility.
City Fertility Sydney CBD fertility specialist Prof Ledger joined his WA-based colleague in Australia’s upper echelon, positioned at No.11 by publishing 13 eligible articles during 2013-2023. This achievement places him in the top 0.5 per cent of published authors worldwide on the topic of female infertility.
With more than 30 years of experience in fertility, obstetrics, and gynaecology with specialist qualifications in reproductive medicine and infertility under his belt, Prof Ledger has an unrivalled depth of knowledge in the field of fertility medicine.
He has published more than 300 peer-reviewed papers and journal articles, more than 50 book chapters and joint-authored 16 books on infertility and reproductive medicine, including the 2020 Oxford Textbook of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Prof Ledger also leads the fertility research group at the University of New South Wales and is the most published fertility specialist in NSW.
In addition, FSWA’s Scientific Director, Dr Walls solidified her place among Australia’s top experts, coming in at No.54.
Dr Walls has made impactful contributions with several published articles on female infertility. She is also recognised internationally as a scientific expert in the field of in-vitro maturation of oocytes (IVM). Dr Walls’ expertise enriches the Fertility Specialists of WA team and adds to the diversity of knowledge within the organisation.
